Consultant radiation protection
As a consultant, you play a crucial role in executingvarious projects within the field of radiation protection. These projects maybe commissioned by our own NRG organization, such as those for the upcomingPallas reactor or the Fieldlab/Nuclear Health Centre in Petten, as well as forexternal clients.
A significant aspect of the role involves performingcalculations for risk assessments of radiation applications or nuclearfacilities and providing expertise and advice on radiation protection. Thesecalculations utilize a range of computational tools including MCNP andMicroshield® for shielding issues and in-house developed software forenvironmental dispersion.
Additionally, you will participate in the research programconducted by NRG on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and ClimatePolicy, and advise larger organizations on drafting radiation protectionpolicies.
The primary location for work is our office in Arnhem, butassignments may require on-site work at client locations.
Profile
· Hold a master's degree (in physics and/orengineering) with several years of relevant work experience in a researchand/or consultancy environment; candidates with a doctoral degree are alsowelcome.
· Hold the Coordinator Radiation Protection Expertcertificate (or Radiation Protection Expert Level 3 or equivalent), or bewilling to obtain it shortly.
· Experience with computational tools such as MCNPor similar complex modeling tools used in fields like particle physics isadvantageous.
· Knowledge of the application of laws andregulations such as licensing and compliance in radiation protection, and theirorganizational aspects, is preferred.
· Experience in project management.
· Possessing a relevant network within theradiation protection field is advantageous.
· Excellent oral and written communication skillsin both Dutch and English.
